A chapel existed on this site before 1850 but the present building was erected in 1852 as a Calvinistic Methodist Chapel on the road from Llangors to Bwlch. The religious census of 1851 records 35 in the congregation while by 1905 it rose to 142.

The date stone reads: Bethel Arddoldy y Trefnyddion Calfinaidd Adeiladwyd 1852

The chapel became redundant in the 1950s and was sold at auction in 1977 when both the worship space and the adjoining stable were converted to residential accommodation
The conversion maintained almost all of the original exterior chapel architecture – although the chapel door was altered to create a small window. The stable adjoining the west side was converted to provide a garage with accommodation above. The interior of the worship space was altered but incorporated part of the gallery, pulpit and pews. The pulpit which once occupied a central position on the main lateral façade is now part of the gallery/landing area.

The house was sold more recently in 1980
